TUNIS, Tunisia, April 27 (UPI) — A Tunisian family alleges their daughter was raped during a telephone conversation with a man, a lawyer for the family said.
The 30-year-old man said he never touched the young woman. But he acknowledged he heard her scream while they were “totally into” an erotic telephone conversation — and that she reported bleeding, Al Arabiya reported.
Maha al-Metebaa, a lawyer representing the family, told the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabs the case needs careful investigation because of its unprecedented allegations. He said a medical examination had determined that the woman, 20, was no longer a virgin.
“The intercourse did take place with all its details but verbally only,” he said. “The sexual act did not really happen because the physical proximity factor is not there, yet it happened because there is a direct physical impact – the loss of virginity.”
Direct physical impact? mmmhhhh let me think…….

It is worth to add that this only became news because Saudi owned channels like Al-Arabiya and conservative newspapers like Al-Qabs decided to treat the parents’ stupid allegations as news.

comes a great alternative to the headscarf or türban or, even worse, burka for women: an eye mask for men who aren’t able to control themselves if they see a woman who doesn’t cover her hair (and neck). As most will know, some fundamentalist Muslim men want their women to cover up - and other women as well for that matter - so they (men) won’t be tempted to commit a sin or even to think about sinning.
But if that’s the problem, wouldn’t it be easier and more logical for those men to do something, and not for women? A great business idea, I can see a huge market in Saudi Arabia ha ha ha!! (Just to name one)

Hours before Boris Johnson took the platform outside City Hall to proclaim his victory as the next mayor of London, anarchists and anti-fascist activists assembled along the Queen’s Walk to protest the elections and in a bid to blockade Richard Barnbrook and other members of the British National Party from approaching City Hall.
At least two hours before the scheduled 6pm protests, police officers had already established a concentrated perimeter around City Hall, stretching beyond the borders offered by the picturesque London and Tower Bridges. “Suspiciously dressed” passengers were systematically stopped and searched by officers on foot at Underground stops. By five o’clock the small brownfield off the south side of City Hall was filled by 24 police vans encircled by police cameras mounted on tripods and multi-story cranes.
Police medics and hundreds of police officers swarmed around City Hall, patrolling the area in pairs, equipped with earpieces and accompanied by the FIT-team outfitted in blue vests.
However, despite the thousands of leaflets printed advertising the action, and despite the months of planning, postering and stickering, barely one hundred protestors gathered at City Hall for the demonstration.
No sign today of the MuslimsforKen bandwagon, may be they were too tired, it is quite easy to scribble few claims on website and leaflets against Boris Johnson but take some guts (and balls) to face the BNP and riot police! May be , before election day, would have been better and much more productive to use the efforts to stop the BNP (the real threat) and engage in an intelligent, meaningful and constructive discussion with the Boris Camp.

Two launches in two weeks for two new British Muslim organisations. On Tuesday the Quilliam foundation - established by ex-members of radical Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir - was launched. The coming week will see the launch of British Muslims for a secular democracy - established by a group of high-profile journalists and activists.
Former radical Islamists are launching a think tank to counter the ideology they blame for violent extremism.The Quilliam Foundation says Muslims can discover a form of “Western Islam” by returning to the heart of the faith.Its founding members are all reformed hardliners who say British Muslims should be pioneering a renewed vision free from foreign ideology.
The foundation is backed by popular progressive scholars - and is supported by a string of non-Muslim thinkers.

An courageous Sufi who is the world head of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi order, and who has been an outspoken leader against Muslim extremism for many many years. Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is the also Chariman of Islamic Supreme Council of America and has been a controversial figure because he is not afraid to talk about what Muslim fanatics are doing to ruin the religion.
I’ve sometimes thought that the sane, wise people from the world’s various traditions seem to me like they belong to the same essential religious tradition. And those who do misdeeds in the name of religion strike me as part of an alternative long and unfortunate tradition in which the human ego puts the authority and trappings of religion to its own purposes.
It is a regular Turkish Diner with Doner and Shish Kebabs. However, their service is fast & friendly and food reasonably good. I recommend Kofte kebab for it is as juicy as it gets. It is mainly a meat-place and probably the few vegetarian offerings are best avoided. The staff are friendly and the kebabs are fine. They have some tables so you can sit in and eat your food.
